WOOM WALK

Woom are a four-piece South London collective whose material is mostly harmonised acapella; their self-professed sound being "indie-folklore". Innovation and seamless vocals make Woom's covers much more than just covers; their blending of 'Seigfried / Self Control / White Ferrari' being a spectacular example. The group are set to release their debut EP Into The Rest, containing their first entirely original song 'Walk', which has just been revealed alongside a video. Setting a somber ambience at the start of the song are mellow electronics and slow acoustic guitar, plucked with a feather-light touch. As one voice begins, singing 'got it all', four more join, one by one, uniting for a satisfying vocal glide. Woven throughout the song, are hauntingly beautiful vocal harmonies that evoke both feelings of sorrow and comfort. You'll loose yourself in the outro ad-lib section, where the four's melodies become increasingly disparate and hypnotic, leaving you in a wonderfully dreamy state. Check out the bewitched, black and white video for 'Walk' and look out for Into The Rest, arriving 25th February via House Anxiety. -Ellie Rose-Davies
